Hello! Happy Monday.....hmmm I so need to vent to you!
I was in a gym (not saying the name of the gym) and this really fit lady in her 40's had this beautiful 6 pack, she was training with a trainer. As I proceeded to watch I got so mad he was doing the most lame training with her. Later after my workout I was stretching on the mat and the lady and her trainer came over to do abs next to me. Not being nosy but they were talking quite loudly. She was telling him that she wanted to compete and the trainer said "yeah I can get you there no problem" Agh!! Please dude. Listen I don't know everything but I do know this ,being around the fitness industry awhile,Bodybuilding is a science! Its not just training somebody like you do everybody else you really have to know how to play with there body. Everything from sodium loading to carb depletion. These trainers who go to Cooper (not knocking that institute but still scary you can get you certification in one week) for one week and get certified and never been to a bodybuilding show in there life think they can train somebody for a show. It's not fair to that person when they trust you and they think you know what you are doing.
A couple of weeks later a got a call from a lady who was told to call me by several people about competing. She had met some of the people I had trained for shows. I called her back and we talked for awhile she told me her trainer put her on a so called "competition diet". She told me what it was and I was disgusted! He had pretzels and weight gainer shakes on her diet what the heck she wants to do figure not a powerlifting show. I gave her some advice but because I had no room to train her I gave her number to one of the best trainers in the industry, because I trust his work.
Bottom line is this. Bodybuilding is a science! All the people I have trained for shows it was a day by day thing. Sometimes I would have to change there diet on a daily basis. People who do bodybuilding shows work hard and diet for 3 months and they trust you so you better know what you are doing. Remember they have to stand in front of thousands of people in a bathing suit so you owe it to them to be that scientist!
Thank for letting me vent.....agh I feel better
